With his rookie season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series headed toward its finale in a couple of months, Ty Dillon’s future just got much brighter as he and Germain Racing announced a multi-year contract extension to keep him behind the wheel of the No. 13 GEICO Chevrolet for the foreseeable future.
Along with Dillon and Germain announcing their deal, GEICO, which has sponsored the team since 2008, also announced that they will be a permanent fixture on the livery of Dillon’s car for years to come. The team also noted in their announcement that they will continue their technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing for 2018 and beyond.
“Being able to partner with GEICO all these years has been a source of great pride for our race team and for me personally,” said Germain Racing owner, Bob Germain, Jr. “They’re an incredible company and they support our sport in so many different ways. We’re very fortunate to be the team that gets to represent GEICO on the race track. I appreciate their support and I look forward to working with them in the years to come. Ty Dillon has given us some very exciting races in his rookie season. We have extended Ty’s contract, and look forward to crew chief Bootie Barker and Ty leading the team to more success. They will be supported by all of the same great team members who have helped build Germain Racing.”
Through the first 25 races of the 2017 season, Dillon has yet to break into the top-10, but has been a fixture in the top-20 at the finish of the majority of the races this season, with 16 finishes inside the top-20.
At both the May Talladega race and last Sunday’s race at Darlington, Dillon tied his career-best finish with a 13th place finish, a notable result for a team of Germain Racing’s caliber.
“GEICO is an amazing sponsorship partner and a great supporter of NASCAR as a whole, said Dillon. “I love having the chance to represent them and be a part of their widespread footprint in the sport, along with their long-standing relationship with Germain Racing. We’ve experienced success together during my rookie season and I’m excited for what the future holds for our No. 13 GEICO team.”
