Lucama, NC – Mason Diaz currently sits at the top in late model points at Southern National Motorsports Park after grabbing two wins this past Saturday in the Remember the Fallen 225. Diaz currently has 8 podium finishes with half of those being wins. He leads with a total of 250 points followed by Chris Chapman and Rusty Daniels who each have 233 points. Jonathan Findley sits in 4th position with a total of 231 points followed Paul Williamson who rounds out the top 5, with a total of 214 points.
Throughout the night there were 5 different leaders in the late model division including the #4 of Jonathan Findley, #21 of Gerald Benton, #24 of Mason Diaz, #29 of Paul Williamson, and the #51 of Chris Chapman. Diaz would fall to 3rd in the 2nd Twin race of the night but made a last lap pass to get by Findley. Findley, being the only other driver in the top 5 with a win also has 4 runner up finishes, 3 of which were behind Diaz.
Although neither Chapman or Daniels have a win this year, they have both been recording consistent Top 5 finishes, Both are previous winners at SNMP and hope to get get back to victory lane soon.
The next race at Southern National Motorsports Park will be the School’s Out 325 on June 24th featuring Late Model Stocks, Chargers, Mini Stocks, Any Cars, Legends and Bandoleros.
